SPS' RFID-enabled caps (patented technology) and smart SensorVials™ replace low-cost,
easily manipulated aluminum caps for standard or custom designed pharmaceutical vials or
cosmetic jars. SPS' caps are designed to use the existing capping production lines /
equipment with minimum retrofit.
Our caps present the advantage to be "clean" by design and choice of material: They snap-on
the vials, thus eliminating the crimping process. As a consequence, the capping process can
be repatriated into the laminar flow. SPS' caps can be sterilized (repeatedly if necessary)
using conventional methods.
SPS' caps can be highly customized, including:
- choice of colors,
- raised logo,
- braille,
- choice of RFID module (technology and IC vendor).
The standard location of the RFID module, always on top, allows a number of advantages
including scanning process automation, reading accuracy,
Additionally, custom RFID requirements can be implemented per a customer's supply chain
procedures.
For SensorVial™, the use of proprietary light diffraction elements (Binary Optical Element, or
BOE) adds additional intelligence and security to the vial itself, without compromising the
efficacy of the drug. SPS' BOE can be integrated with any vial--glass, plastic, etc. BOE can be
low density and visual ( holograms) and high density, non-visual, machine readable. They can
easily be combined on the same package.
Combining the RFID-enabled cap with SensorVial™ creates a new state-of-the-art package for
